• Bus 112 from Siena: 1h15, ~6 euro. 3-4 daily departures.
• By car: 1h via the SR2 (Via Cassia), beautiful scenic drive.
• Famous for: pecorino cheese, Renaissance urban design, panoramic walks along the town walls.
• Half-day is enough. Combine with Montepulciano or Montalcino if driving.
• Lunch focus: order pici and pecorino, that's the local pairing.

What I tell visitors

Pienza + Montepulciano in a day is the classic Val d'Orcia loop. Without a car, you need the bus and tight planning.
