# Where to Park in Siena: A Practical Guide
Siena's historic center is closed to non-resident traffic (ZTL). Drive in by mistake and you will get a 100+ euro fine in the mail two months later.
Key facts
- Parcheggio Il Campo (Santa Caterina): closest to Piazza del Campo, escalator up. 2 euro/hour, 20 euro/day.
- Parcheggio Il Duomo: under the Duomo, expensive but unbeatable for short visits with luggage.
- Parcheggio Stadio: cheap (free at night), 10 min uphill walk to the center. Best value if staying outside the walls.
- Parcheggio Fagiolone (San Marco): free, with escalator. Locals park here.
- Never trust GPS-routed shortcuts through the center. Park outside the walls and walk in.
What I tell visitors
Hotels inside the ZTL can register your plate so you can drop bags. Email them your number plate and arrival time before you drive in.
