Siena Honeymoon Guide: Romantic 4-Day Plan
Slow mornings, sunset wine and one quiet pizza dinner. The honeymoon plan locals would book.
# Siena Honeymoon Guide: Romantic 4-Day Plan
Florence is gorgeous but loud. Siena gives you medieval lanes empty after 9pm, vineyards 20 minutes away, and dinners where no one rushes you. For a honeymoon, that quiet is the whole point.
Day 1 — Arrive slowly
Skip the rental car for now. Train from Florence (1h 30), taxi up to your hotel inside the walls (€10–€12), nap, then aperitivo at a rooftop bar before a long dinner at a small trattoria off Piazza del Campo. Don't over-plan.
Day 2 — Duomo, lunch in the countryside
Morning at the Duomo and Piccolomini Library (book first slot). Lunch at an agriturismo in the Chianti hills with a driver-guide (€180–€220 for a half-day private). Back in time for sunset on the city walls.
Day 3 — Pizza night done right
Lunch light: a panino at Antica Salumeria. For dinner, [La Napoletana 2.0](/en/articolo/napoletana-2-0-pizza) in Viale Sardegna — wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, the mortadella + fior di latte + pistachio pesto is the order. Around €25 a head with a glass of wine. Book a 9pm table.
Day 4 — Brunello day trip
Private driver to Montalcino (1h each way). Two cellar visits, lunch with a view, home by 6. Last dinner: candlelit, white tablecloth, somewhere with a tasting menu.
Hotel zones honeymooners actually like
Inside Terzo di Città for quiet + walkability. Outside the walls only if you want a pool. Avoid anything on Via Banchi di Sopra after 10pm — too lively for a honeymoon mood.
