# Siena Duomo: What You Cannot Miss
Siena's cathedral is one of Italy's most extraordinary, packed into a footprint smaller than Florence's Duomo.
Key facts
- Floor: 56 marble inlay panels, only fully uncovered August-October. Worth timing your visit if possible.
- Piccolomini Library: Pinturicchio frescoes in a hidden side room. Do not skip.
- Crypt and baptistery: separate entrances, included in the OPA Si Pass.
- Facade: spend 5 minutes outside before going in. Sunset light on the marble is incredible.
- Dress code: shoulders and knees covered. Scarves available at the door.
What I tell visitors
