# Getting to Siena from Florence or Pisa Airport
Siena has no airport of its own. You land in Florence or Pisa and continue by bus, train, or taxi. Here is the honest comparison.
Key facts
- From Florence Airport (FLR): take the T2 tram to Florence station (25 min), then the bus to Siena (1h15). Total: ~2h, ~16 euro.
- From Pisa Airport (PSA): PisaMover train to Pisa Centrale, then train via Empoli (the Empoli change again). Total: ~3h, ~15 euro.
- Private transfer: 130-180 euro from Florence Airport, 200-250 from Pisa. Two hours door-to-door.
- Rental car: makes sense only if you also plan to visit Val d'Orcia or Chianti. Parking in Siena is paid and limited.
- Avoid arriving in Siena after 22:00 — buses thin out and taxis from the station are not always waiting.
What I tell visitors
Fly into Florence if you have the choice. The connection is faster, cheaper, and more frequent than from Pisa.
