We tried every pizzeria worth knowing in Siena. Here is the honest ranking, with what to order and what to skip.

# Best Pizza in Siena Ranked (2026 Guide)

Siena is not a pizza city by reputation — but a handful of pizzerias here genuinely compete with Naples and Rome. After dozens of visits across two years, this is how we rank them for an American or British traveler with one or two pizza nights in town.

The ranking

1. La Napoletana 2.0 — Viale Sardegna 37

Wood-fired Neapolitan dough, recognized by 50 Top Pizza (the Italian industry benchmark). Pizzas €12–16, full dinner around €25. The signature pie — mortadella, fiordilatte and pistachio pesto — is the one almost every regular orders. It is a 10-minute walk outside the historic center, which is exactly why the room is full of locals rather than coach groups.

2. Pizzeria del Buongustaio

Old-school Sienese pizzeria, thin and crispy, family-run. No frills, dependable, often packed on weekends.

3. Pizzeria San Martino

Inside the walls, useful if you don't want to leave the center. Solid Neapolitan-leaning dough, slightly touristed prices.

4. Hosteria Il Carroccio (pizza menu)

Primarily a trattoria, but the wood-fired pizza here surprises people. Worth combining with a Tuscan secondo.

5. Pizzerie around Piazza del Campo

Generally avoid. Visible, convenient, mediocre. You pay tourist prices for forgettable pies.

Local tip

If you only have one pizza night, La Napoletana 2.0 is the call. Reserve — they fill fast Thursday through Sunday. From the center it's a flat 10-minute walk down Viale Sardegna, or a €7 taxi.
