• Famous for: Twilight saga shooting locations (the modern Volterra is nothing like the books, however).
• Best paired with San Gimignano if driving.

Volterra rewards travelers interested in pre-Roman history. If that doesn't include you, prioritize San Gimignano or Pienza first.
