# Shopping in Siena: What to Buy
Siena's shopping is concentrated, traditional, and easy to navigate. Skip the obvious tourist trinkets.
Key facts
- Best traditional buys: panforte and ricciarelli (at Nannini or Bini), Sienese ceramics, olive oil, leather goods.
- Best shopping streets: Via di Citta, Via Banchi di Sopra (more modern), Via Banchi di Sotto.
- Skip: mass-produced 'Italy' magnets and Leaning Tower miniatures (this is Siena, not Pisa).
- Wine: buy at an enoteca, not a supermarket. The price is similar and the advice is better.
- Markets: Wednesday morning at La Lizza for food and household goods.
What I tell visitors
If you take one thing home, make it a wedge of panforte and a bottle of local olive oil. Both travel well.

Final word
Whatever brings you to Siena — food, the Palio, the Tuscan countryside — slow down. The city repays attention. If you have a tip to add or a correction, write us at redazione@visitsienaguide.it.
